'Unfolding Joy' is a meditation on Japanese organising consultant Marie Kondo’s catchphrase and is inspired by the real Falafel’s well-meaning attempts to assist with laundry duties (whether dirty or clean, he’s bound to fluff it up).
To emphasise the entrepreneurial ethos, the sign in the final panel is a reference to actual laundromats, which usually offer a coin-operated service.
